Last weekend, the Czech Republic defeated Russia in front of the home crowd, in a final full of suspense.

Lucie was originally scheduled to play the singles rubber alongside Petra. However, due to an inflamed wrist, she had to step down and was replaced by Karolina Pliskova. Petra and Kaja each won one of their two singles matches.

At 2-2, it went down to the doubles rubber opposing Karolina Pliskova/Barbora Stycova and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova/Elena Vesnina. The Czech pair got the 3rd point, securing a FOURTH Fed Cup title in 5 years for the Czech Republic!

Despite the fact that she had to sit in the box this time, Lucie contributed to this success during the semifinal against France : she defeated  Caroline Garcia in the opening rubber, after saving 5 match points (4-6, 7-6, 6-1).
