Australian Open 2013 draws are published! Lucka playes Mirjana Lucic-Baroni in the first round. Match is scheduled on Tuesday, second round from 11 am (1 am CET) on the court number 22.

Lucka also playes doubles with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. In the first round they meet pair Timea Babos/Laura Robson.

Unfortunately I lost in the first round. Sabine played well. Here are the highlights of our match. I play also doubles with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. Defeated 3rd seeded Kops-Jones/Spears in the first round, tomorrow second round against Hantuchova/Srebotnik.

Believe it or not, the regular WTA Tour starts tomorrow! Actually the Hyundai Hopman Cup has started already today. Lucie is going to start the season at the Brisbane International Open. The off-season was quite short between the Fed Cup Final and Brisbane, but hopefully Lucie took the chance to recover complete from the past season, to recharge all the batteries and to start well into the new season and to reach new career benchmarks within the season.

Lucie is on the top half of the draw. She is facing German Sabine Lisicki in the first round. A possible 2nd round opponent is Number 1 seed and of the world Victoria Azarenka.
Lucka is not only competing in the singles competition but also in the doubles. She teamed up with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. The Russian-Czech Team is facing the US American Team with Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears. The Team is number 3 seed.

Lucie is hero of the hour – Fed Cup Champion 2012

Lucie is the hero of the hour for the team of the czech republic. She won the deciding point for her country, her team the Czech Republic to win the 2012 FED CUP.

At the end of every final there always has to be one winner and there is always one player who gets the opportunity to win the all-important third point and has the chance to become a hero in its country. At the 2012 Fed Cup it was LUCIE SAFAROVA.

The score was 2-1 for the czech republic after the first three singles when Lucie took on Serbians Jelena Jankovic. Lucie beat her 6-1 6-1 and with it she won the decisive point and put herself in the limelight. Lucka had never even won a decisive point point in any Fed Cup tie before so picked a good time to do it by handing her nation its first-ever home victory in the competition.

“Here at home in this type of crowd, it’s indescribable, it’s an amazing feeling. There are so many emotions and happiness and that is the feeling we are practicing for every day, even if you’re not in the mood to work,” Lucie said.

Congratulation for the Team of the Czech Republic. Enjoy the success and the well deserved off-season.

US OPEN – Grand Slam Time
The 4th Grand Slam of the season, the US OPEN in Flushing Meadows, New York are about to start. The qualification is done and the Main Draw is going to start monday August 27th 2012.
Lucie is seeded as she is world number 17. In the first round her opponent will be US American Melanie Oudin. Both played twice against each other and Lucie won both matches.

Since Monday, August 20th Lucie claimed her career highest ranking (so far) with position 17 on the world ranking list.

We congratulate her for that archievement!

Her comment about it: “It was a goal of mine for about five years to reach the Top 20, and I was close a few years, so I’m very happy I finally made it,” Safarova said. “I haven’t done very well at the Grand Slams this year, so that could go better for sure. But I have had great results in other big tournaments. I feel pretty good right now.”

Lucie storms into Semifinal

Montreal, Premier WTA Event.
The first hard court tournament of the season seems to be a good one for Lucie. She started strong into the competition and beatSesil Karatantcheva (KAZ) 6:4 6:4 in the first round. The next round was a tough one for Lucka but she kept on playing strong and beat number 4 sees Sam Stosur 7:6(9) 7:6 (5).

Italian Roberta Vinci was waiting in the quarterfinal match but she did not manage to find into her game and lost 2-6 2-6 to Lucie.

Today is the semifinal´s match against Chinese Na Li. Both played five times against each other and the chinese was four times the luckier one.

Olympic Games Preview

2012 the year of the Olympic Games in London. Friday July 27th is the day of the opening ceremony and just one day later the tennis event is going to start. Lucie is representing her country the Czech Republic. She was already representing the Czech Republic in Beijing four years ago.

Lucie is very proud to be a part of the team and the olympic family. The olympic games are a very special occasion for everybody.

The singles and doubles draw has been released today. In singles Lucie is playing against Petra Martic in the first round. The croatian and Lucka played three times already against each other while Lucie is leading 2-1.

In the doubles competition Lucie teamed up with Petra Cetkovska. They will face the italian number 2 seed team Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci in the first round.
