In Paris Lucie played her first round match against Paszek today.

During the first two service games of the Austrian Lucie was able to get a 40-0 lead and use her break chances. At the same time she was very strong during her own service games.

After almost 25 minutes Lucie won the first set 6-0!

In the second set Paszek started very strong and led temporarily with a break.

However, Lucie broke back and got her opponents serve another time.

She won the second set with 6-3.

Now Lucie is in the second round an will either face Francesca Schiavone or Vesna Manasieva.

After the win of the Fed Cup at the weekend Lucie is back on the single competition. This week she is competing at the GDF Suez in Paris.
Her first Round opponent is Tamira Paszek from Austria.

This match is scheduled for Tuesday, Februrary 09th not before 1:30 p.m. on Court 1.

Lucka is not competing in the doubles competition.

After day 1 the score was 1-1, every team won a match.

However, the second and last day had to bring a result. It was very exciting again.

Because of Hradecka’s win over Petkovic with 6-1, 7-6 (5) it was 2-1 for the Czech Republic.

In the last singles match it was Groenefeld again who won the match and in generall it was 2-2.

The winner between the two teams had to win the doubles match. In this match played Hradecka/Peschke against Malek/Groenefeld.

With a great start and a wonderful match, the Czech team won this match (6-1, 6-3) and the first round of Fed Cup 2010!

In the next round they have to face Italy.

This week Lucie will play in Paris.

Her opponent in the first round is Tamira Paszek (AUT).

Lucie never played against the 19-year-old Austrian before.

This weekend the Czech team has to play against Germany in the first round of the Fed Cup 2010.

During the week Lucie suffered from illness and it wasn’t even sure whether she would be able to play her matches.

One day after her 23rd birthday it was clear that she can play the opening match. During an interview she said:“I think we have a decent chance but we have to take it one step at a time and beat Germany first,”Additionally she mentioned: “I am very excited and I know the fans can make a big difference in an evenly-balanced tie like this,”

On Saturday her match against German Anna-Lena Grönefeld was the first one.

From the beginning Grönefeld played a good match. She used her power and her breack chances to get a comfortable lead. Lucie, still disadvantaged because of her illness, lost the match with 2-6, 2-6.

In the second match Petra Kvitova won against German Petkovic.

That means that the score after the first day is 1-1.

Today the Draw for the Fed Cup tie between the Czech Republic and Germany has beed made. Fortunately is fit again, as she was sick in the last days, and can compete in that tie. Germany´s number 1 player Sabine Lisicki is not playing that tie.
