Lucie reached the Semifinal at the Mutua Madrilena Masters Madrid. She beat the Russian Nadia Petrova 6-1 1-6 6-4 in the quarterfinal.

In the second and third round at this tournament Lucie played two marathon matches. After just one day recovery she had to play the Quarterfinal match against Nadia Petrova. The Russian beat Serena Williams in the previous round.

But this day was enough for Lucie to gain 100% power back.
Lucie played a stronger first set, Petrova made more errors. The key game was at 2-1 for Lucie, when she hold her serve after facing five break-chances for Nadia. Lucka won that set 6-1 after only 29 minutes.

The 2nd set started bad for Lucka. She made many unforced errors while Petrova made less than in the first round. After only a few minutes the score was 0-4. Nadia Petrova won that set 6-1.

In the deciding set Lucie Lucie got a early break and could hold it during the complete set.

After 1:47 hours Lucka had her first match point. She won that game,set and match after a unforced error of Petrova.

The opponent for the next round is not yet decided. It will be the winner between Rezai and Jankovic.

After her first round match against M. Sharapova Lucie faced O. Govortsova in the second round.

It was a very tense match and took more than 2 1/2 hours.

At the end the winner made only 4 points more than the opponent by total 222 points.

Lucie won the match 4-6, 6-2, 7-5.

In the next round she will face A. Dulgheru who defeated E. Dementieva.

After her week in Rome, where Lucie reached the 1/4-final, she plays in Madrid this week.

She is in the upper half of the draw with first seeded Serena Williams in her quarter.

In the first round, Lucie had to play against Maria Sharapova (RUS).

Lucie defeated the Russian who was the number 11 of the tournament with 6-4, 6-3.

In the next round, Lucie will face O. Govortsova (BLR).

After Lucie defeated F. Pennetta in her second round with 6-1, 6-2 her opponent in the third round was A. Radwanska.

Lucie’s opponent was seeded on position 8 and started extremly well, she won the first set 6-1.

However, Lucie fought back and won the next two sentences and the whole match. The final score of her third round match was: 1-6, 6-3, 7-6(1).

Now Lucie was in the quarter-final. She had to play against M. Martinez Sanchez (ESP).

Unfortunately the woman from Spain was stronger than Lucie during the match. Lucie lost it with 6(6)-7, 4-6.

After the tournament in Stuttgart where Lucie defeated world number 2 C. Wozniacki, Lucie plays in Rome this week.

She is in the second half of the draw, in the fourth quarter.

In the first round Lucie’s opponent was O. Govortsova (BUR).

It was the first meeting for both of them. During the match Lucie hit 14 aces, saved 4 breack chances and could break her opponents serve 5 times herself.

After 2 1/2 hours Lucie won the match 6-2, 6(9)-7, 6-3.

In the second round Lucie will face F. Pennetta.
